Francesco Musante - Screen Print "Navigazione maccheroniana"

Description of the artwork and artist biography

The artwork "Navigazione maccheroniana" by Francesco Musante is an original graphic work created using a textured screen-printing technique on paper. The artwork measures 8x10 cm, and the artist, born in Genoa in 1950, has a long and rich artistic career behind him. Francesco Musante began his artistic experiments in the 1960s, exploring abstract research and influenced by Pop Art and Rauschenberg's combine paintings. Over the years, he has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows, both in Italy and abroad, demonstrating his versatility through various artistic techniques such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, engraving and graphic art. The artwork "Navigazione maccheroniana" represents a turning point in Musante's career, as he moved from figurative painting inspired by Klimt towards a more narrative and fantastical style from the 1980s onwards. His paintings are characterised by figures and objects that seem to have emerged from a storybook, creating light-hearted and cheerful atmospheres. Musante has taken part in numerous international exhibitions and has also collaborated on television projects, demonstrating his constant artistic exploration and ability to reinvent himself over the years.
